The wine advocate:
The Tinto Quinta de S. José is a 65/35 blend of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca aged for 12 months in used French oak. It comes in at 14.6% alcohol. This is lush, ripe and flavorful and it seems to coat the palate well. In terms of fruit, it’s a big winner in a polished, forward and accessible wine that will make everyone happy. The structure is not nearly as interesting, if you can find any. This does not seem like the best bet if you want to cellar something and see it become more in six or seven years. Still, it has a shot. It’s hard to resist today, though. Drinking this young is its highest and best use.
